I want to eventually switch to VBulletin. My dad told me today, that when he gets his site up, I can have a VBulletin on the server. That means that the adress will probably change to "www.[mydad'sdomainname].com/gleasonator". However, I will register "www.gleasonator.com" as domain names, and put in a SUB domain for my forums, blog, whatever. So basically, "www.forum.gleasonator.com" will redirect you to this page, and "www.gleasonator.com" will be my home page. But I'm here to talk about VBulletin.
Here are the benefiets.
1) You can do anything you can do on ProBoards with VBulletin, plus: 2) You can add feilds to profiles. This will be perfect for awards. 3) You can earn VPoints for posting, and you can do cool things like use BB code in your username. (i.e. Instead of my username just being "Gleasonator", I could use VPoints to make it "Gleasonator" or even "[glow=blue,2,300]Gleasonator[/glow]'). But you can do many other things with VPoints too. 5) There are more skinning options, and you can change the whole layout alltogether. (One example is where it says "Bull$#!%" (or whatever), that long box containing the text can become an image). But that's just a very small example. You could make it so you have all the categories to the side, and when you click one, the boards magically appear. I almost can't explain it's power here. 6) There's a working chatbox! No need to sign in. As soon as you sign into the forums, you also sign into the chatbox. It is very fast too.
Basically you can do anything you want with it. Have I convinced to move... AGAIN. I promise that I will edit each and every one of your profiles and keep your post counts and karma the same. (As well as warning level, skullfarmer) This wont be for a while, but it will honestly be better than these forums. I know I've said before that these were my LAST forums, but I never even thought that VBulletin would be a good idea (because I never knew it would exceed 10 members!). If we move to VBulletin, I promise to keep your profiles (and powers, if you're a mod. Maybe even a little more power because we'd have it) the same. As I will also do with the skins. I will manually move each skin over exactly as they are.
Who's with me?

I see...
How much will this cost?
I may even chip in 20 bucks or so, if it comes to that.

Really? I may accept donations, depending on how much money I have.

It will be $160, plus $10 for the domain name... so $170. Like I said, it's not happening now, so money isn't a problem because nothing is a problem. We'll see what happens. By the way, ProBoards is like a hole in the wall. If you have VBulletin, you're more likely to get random members.

*Sigh*
If it will cost about $170.00...
Will you be willing to pay that much?
I'll try to chip in a bit.

Yes. For Christmas my grandma usually gives me $100 and my uncle gives me $20. I believe I have $40 now. So by Christmas, I'll have (probably) $160. And $10 isn't that much. Again though, we'll see.

Oh. I just read that in order to get updates on the $160 one, you need to pay $30 a year, but that's not required to keep the forums. If I can't come up with $30 a year, I may accept donations.

I'll chip in those 10 bucks, if you need me too.

I might, but I bet I can come up with it. Thanks anyways. Check out the VBulletin forums HERE. This is just an example of a basic VBulletin. (If you scroll over the threads, you get the text from the first post!)

Yes. I may get VBulletin sooner than I think. My dad says January. He usually says he'll do stuff then doesn't get the time, be he seems really dedicated to this.

I'm not surprised... so does everyone. I have a list here though, of most important or best members to least important. If everyone becomes a mod, then being a mod is not important. Once we reach a certain velocity of members, the next on the list will be chosen. Keep raking in members and there's a good chance that (if you post alot and bring action to the forums) you will become a mod.

coughkireicoughhack I'm looking through a VBulletin demo right now. The skins are pretty awsome... I'm making one identical to "GLEASONATOR FORUMS". Or at least close enough... I might have to edit the templates a little bit, which are purely HTML so I might comfuse myself. Just about anything you can think of is on this. (By the way, when we move to VBulletin, "GLEASONATOR REVOLUTION" will be the default) I can make the skins now, on the demo, and download them for future use. Oh yeah, back to anything you can think of is on this, I just found a neat feature; you can combine two accounts. So if someone made an extra account and for whatever reason... maybe forgot their password or whatever and started a new one and was too stupid to ask me what the old password was, I can fuse the two accounts! I keep learning new stuff about VBulletin... this is going to be cool. The skins though... are a bit harder to make. And they take about half an hour per skin if no images are used and no formatting is done to the position of each thing.

Salty has more posts then me.. only downside to her being a mod is that she doesn't have internet at home... (*sniff* so sad..) otherwise I can just picture her being a mod ((salty being a mod: "HEY! YOU! DON'T POST STUFF LIKE THAT! THAT'S SPAM!!!" ***SMACK** -bad member flies all the way across GLEASONATOR..- *ahhh...* ~-~Salty the mod had done it again~-~ :end))
If we do get a lot of members and are in need of a mod, I'd be one. Until then, it doesn't really matter to me.
