Alex has some competion from mantis! Depends on the program. C has more features but Flash is more visual. Web browsers and full blown 3D rendered games are good for C. Flash, on the other hand, is good for virtually eating McDonald's and bouncing balls around (plus it's faster and easier to code).

Well to answer Mantis's question of what my question is it was "where are you learning this stuff?" Why would he not learn this stuff? He has too much free time anyways. Just trying to live through it without being bored I think. XD

Lol, I'd love to one day. We'll be the next "Blizzard"! But that would be VERY hard to achieve. What?!? Are you flirting with the competition?!?!

Um...how did you do this? It runs faster than FireFox. I don't believe you. You used IE source code or something.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005. Once I'm done with ActionScript I'm going to try to learn C++, C# and all those other cool languages. I believe that my dad has Visual Basic. We'll see

Trust me, each line of code has a meaning! XD Lol, yes, I know that sounds funny. But i'm only reminding you that since there's a reason for each line of code in my program, and my program has 60 something lines, imagine the flexibility! But we've gotton past this. That actually sounds more flexible in the way that you specify everything but also less flexible because you can't get it to meet your needs as fast. O.o

Just wait... I can see it now. Gleasonator Games ~Leeching the Mantis-Games dreamXD You know flash isn't nearly as powerful as C++.

That made me laugh. C'mon man! See the flaws of your language. It takes 60 lines to do something that ActionScript can do in 5 lines and it's more visual. I understand the flaws of my language. It's not as flexible and you can't export it to every freakin' format known to man. You have lot's of limits. Basically: C++: Use for full-blown applications and 3D rendered video games that take alot of time to make but with dedication, have the best quality. ActionScript: Use for simple programs that can be done visually and fast. Plus it runs on all OS's. Now, which one would YOU learn first? That thing you just made is a simple program, and all I'm saying is that it would have been easier to do in Flash.

I understand that... but how flexible do you need it? You use C++ to make stuff like firmware, but for simple applications, Flash is easier and looks better. Is 60 lines really worth the flexibility? If I were to make a full-blown program, C++ is da deal. But otherwise, ActionScript is easier to learn, faster to make porgrams with, and easier to make look better faster.

That would be rounding. How about a suggestion? Decimals to fractions! Good work on that by the way... but you can do that in about five lines (at the most) in ActionScript. XD I want to learn C++, too, but you can have it for now. I'm starting with the foundation.

If you're real, who recruited you? *sigh* Reread the welcome thread. It's like I'm chasing after you quoting every freakin post you make. Last night I went to Carl's (Balmung) house and Jim was over too so I had him make a profile. Quit being retards.

I haven't done anything in Flash since I posted the rounding number application. Since ten minutes ago, I'm learning how to move sprites around. I'll post something later. FYI I can only make things move so far, not collide. So it isn't really that amazing.

Um... just open it. And yes, I called the input box "input" and the output "output" and ended up with: button.onrelease = function(){ output = "Hi, " + input + "!"; } I'm pretty proud of myself, only have been playing around with this for a few hours.

Well. Now we're here. Anyways, here's a new program. If you don't know, you type your name in the box and click "Click Here". Pretty self explanitory. This time I made the button 3D looking. gleasonator.googlepages.com/WhatsYourName.swf

Yes it it is visual and an easy start. I can do anything I'd ever want to do in Flash.
Why would you want the source?
