What I'm doing here is taking one song from all the main CDs that I have (and I don't have much, trust me) and picking out my favorite song on it. After doing that, I'll make a short review on why I like it so much. I'll include the band name first, then the album name, then the song, and then the review beneath each one. Please note that I haven't posted all of them up yet, only a few. Enjoy!
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon - Time
"The song starts with ticking sounds that grow louder and louder, and then--DING! You here a chaotic (sort of) chorus of bells clinging around your ears. Then you here some dull thudding sounds (you'll have to here the song, I can't really describe them). You here Nick Mason's echoing drums, and it adds a real nice mysterious effect that makes a big role in the beginning of the song. You here different pitches of some xylaphone thing, and eventually you'll reach the lyrical part of the song. The first part is some kind of shout, and the second part is soothing. All the lyrics in the song talk about the disadvantage of time and stuff like that. After the first section of lyrics you here an awesome guitar solo. Followed by that is a second section of lyrics which then recede into the quiet "Breath Reprise". Overall, a must-listen for any rock fan (actually, any songs on this thread will do)"
Pink Floyd - The Wall - Comfortably Numb
"Immediately you here the sound of a keyboard followed up by some drum beats. The lyrics begin at exactly 7 seconds, so there is little time for an entry tune. You hear a an echoing voice saying things like "I can ease your pain" and "Can you show me where it hurts." Some think that the song is about the drug heroin, others think that its about war fare or something like that. Well, I guess it's up for you to decide that. After about 45 seconds or so you hear a more comforting voice that leads up to an incredible guitar solo, the first one. Again, the tones of the voice repeats itself but the lyrics change, well, most of them anyway. After the second song phase you hear an almost 2 minute incredible guitar solo, better then the first one. The song fades out an leads on to the next song on the CD "The Show Must Go On". This is a must must must hear if you are a huge fan of rock music.
