INTELLIGENT DISCUSSION THREAD Since all the other threads on Gleasonator are spam filled, I'm going to create this thread that will only be used for intelligent discussion. I know Trogdor, Thorax, and Thanos (they all begin with a T.. LOL!) will probably spam this up, but their posts will be terminated. Here are some guidelines you must follow: RULESTry to make your posts at least 4 sentences long Don't disagree with the rules, posts like that will be destroyed No Flaming Follow all the other rules on Gleasonator Now for the topic we can first discuss: TOPIC"Are you worried about global warming? Why or why not?"

I have to say, my favorite food has got to be popcorn. At my house, it's sort of treated as a dessert, and we usually only eat it while watching a movie. So after my whole life of not eating much popcorn, I've come to love it! Whenever I can get it, I feast on the buttery puffs of nummyness.

Why it would be quite hard to pinpoint exactly my favorite food is, but i would have to decide something fried and crispy for texture, salty, and slightly spicy and garnished with some parsley or oregano. Maybe fried, blackened catfish with a side of fries and saesoned vegetables for lunch in a casual outdoor, lakehouse diner with a slight breeze and glass of raspberry lemonade. for breakfast i would like to have hash-browns! And a crisp cheezy pasta-bake, laden with chicken and marinara suace at an Italian candle-light shop on a busy street in Venice.

Okay. My favorite food is fettucine alfredo. Some resteraunts serve it good, others serve it nasty. But I like Fazoli's kind... it's good there. It has a certain taste that I enjoy.

Sorry about that, I fixed it. Anyway, my favorite food is the enchilada. My favorite flavors are cheese and beef. My favorite enchiladas come from Panchos, Taco Cabanna, and a few other places. I'm dissapointed in Taco Bell because they don't have enchiladas, at least I don't think so. If you never had an enchilada, then try some, now.

What is an intelligent conversation? By 'intelligent' do you mean to say that points are debated, supported, and argued in a logical and factual manner?
If so, then food is a bad place to start because food, and the like and dislike thereof, is subjective in nature and proving and or disproving someone's 'favorite' food would be a difficult undertaking.
If by 'intelligent' you simply mean posts that are reasonably on topic then my comments above are non intelligent.
I like hamburgers, they are my favorite though it cannot be proven or disproven.
Also, I didn't disagree with the rules by posting this.

INTELLIGENT DISCUSSION THREAD Since all the other threads on Gleasonator are spam filled, I'm going to create this thread that will only be used for intelligent discussion. I know Trogdor, Thorax, and Thanos (they all begin with a T.. LOL!) will probably spam this up. I highly disagree with that! I can make a very intelligent discution! And think of this, some of my posts start other posts or threads! Anyway my favorite food is well, everything but brussel sprouts!

I think he just wants us to stay on topic and not act silly, and post meaningful, expressive ideals on a certain topic...I dont think Favorite Food is a very good topic to choose.
perhaps something more important such as: Should Something be Done to Stop Global Warming Should Videogames Be Banned? The War in Iraq
Stuff like this that are relevant to todays problems and expressive views on these kind of things personaly, i dont think Toast is understanding of an "intelligent thread"

There is no need to set a number of sentences for a post. As long as it's smart and relates to the topic, it's fine.

WE.. MUST HELP... you will understand soon. the rising heat will cause catostrophic consequences if we do not even try to stop it. I beleive Al Gore, even if he is just doing this to promote his campaign. If we do not do anything, then millions of people will die!!!! First of all the most apearent change that recently happened was KATRINA. a huge hurricane that killed lots!!!! and how did it begin? well tropical storms start out from heat differences in the water, which condenses into heated water in the air! Twenty years ago, the atlantic was about 2 degrees cooler, that maynot sound like alot, but it nearly doubled the hurricane rate. other than hurricanes drought, heatwave, and ice could melt( causing trapped methane to rise, and suffacate us all)
BUt the solution is among us!!!! the most lowly creatures around us can save the planet..yes, i speak of algea
and what can algea do? they absorb carbon dioxide, but wait cant plants do that too? yes, true but algea colonies can start up in only a week. try it, get a jar filled with water and a bit of fertilizer( high in nitrogen is good for plants) and then just leave it out side for a few days in sunshine. in a week, it will be a healthy green. Well, the algea can be placed on the ends of the coal exhaust pipes, and will guzzle it all up, and release oxygen, if we have enough of these air exchangers, we can lower global warming. even, better yet, the algea that gets used up, can be refined into food, fuel, and other products.
hurray, hurray, lets save the earth!!!

It is scientifically proven that humans only cause around 8-10% of the overall damage. My dad is a scientist, and he studies this kind of stuff. He says that it's: 1. Largely exagerrated 2. Humans cause little damage 3. Al Gore is a (insert swear word here) Trust me, this entire thing is a big phony baloney-ish thing. In fact, scientist believed in global cooling around 30 years ago. Pretty wierd, huh? Why is it wierd? Al Gore is just making up some huge story to get himself more attention then he already has.

Your insolence will cause the end of you. so whyare we "wasting money" building alternative energy sources that burn clean and why do we bother placing filters on our coal plants. why do we recycle. why would we waste or of our tax dollars if there is no global warming? Then if its natural, defying nature, will allow us to survive then....I would like to ask your dad some questions then...
this is getting intellegenty..

Don't tell me you agree with YellowStain! What has the world come to with all this Global Warming crap! By the way, you're not helping at all. In fact, I bet you support Al Gore! Gasp! Actually, I think my dad who went through 6 years of college would know more about global warming then you. Ever think of that? Now, I bet you're thinking: "What about all the other super smart scientists who actually believe in this stuff?" One answer: "They're controlled by Al Gore! They're mindless zombies, just like those preppy people at our school!" Click

O RLY? To save the trees! And to earn some money.. That's the sad part, they are practically throwing their money away. More money should go to the army then that stuff. Defying nature? What about the ice age? How did the earth come to be like this? The answer is "non-human global warming".

Haha, yeah... xD I think Toasty answered that one pretty clearly. Your insolence will cause the end of you. so whyare we "wasting money" building alternative energy sources that burn clean and why do we bother placing filters on our coal plants. why would we waste or of our tax dollars if there is no global warming? It's easy - Politicians and humans lie to other naive humans, trying to make them believe that they are going to be the death of Earth as we know it. They have an idea about "global warming", how we caused it, and it spreads from there. A few people get worried, thinking that the world will flood over if the ice caps melt. Others think up other stories that fit with the belief. And, of course, many just ignore global warming warnings all together. The "global warming" belief keeps growing and growing... and so these politicians decide to fund research about it; to either prove them wrong or prove them right. Justin, I think Toasty was trying to say that there is global warming, but we're exaggerating it to the point that it's hurting us. And Trogdor, please don't post that link again. >.> He didn't get owned. It's a debate on our personal thoughts.
